Teachings of the Living Prophets

  The Priesthood Summary Statement As a priesthood holder, I am entrusted a piece of God's power. Above all, the priesthood is used to bless the lives of others. My righteous use of the priesthood is a sign to Heavenly Father that I love Him. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I am blessed to be able to exercise priesthood power. The priesthood is a privilege.

 Anxiety and Depression Summary Statement Life is full of challenges and trials--seen and unseen. Anxiety and depression are two of those trials. Despite these challenges, God loves all of His children. It is OK to ask for help from outside sources like counseling and medication. Anxiety and depression is an illness, but, with the help of Jesus Christ, I can find healing and happiness. Depression and anxiety is not the end. Instead, it brings experiences that I can use to help and bless others.

 The Power of Forgiveness Summary Statement Forgiveness produces a type of freedom that is practically unmatched. It frees both the giver and the receiver. While forgiveness is a commandment, it is a choice. Forgiveness is difficult, but, with the help of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, it is possible. When I am having difficulty forgiving someone, I will pray for the Lord's help. I have faith that He will help me forgive when it is difficult for me to do so.

 Take Charge of Your Testimony Summary Statement Each person is in charge of their own testimony. A testimony does not mean that we know  it is true, but we does mean that we believe it is true. When we take charge of our testimony that means that we nurture it, help it grow, and cherish it. We must constantly do things to build it up instead of looking for ways to tear it down. As we study and understand our divine identity, the power of Jesus Christ, our covenants, let God prevail, follow the prophet, and teach and testify of what we believe, we are taking charge of our testimonies and helping them grow. As we do, we will become more devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.

 Teaching Truth with Love Summary Statement Teaching truth with love means teaching the things that really matter--the things of eternity. Teaching with love means teaching the things that are true, even if it is hard for learners to hear. When teaching, we must turn to Heavenly Father, the source of all truth. Teachers should pray for their students and pray for increased love for their students. As we prepare, the Lord will bless us to know how best to help those we teach. We can find the truth for ourselves and teach it when we let God prevail and follow His prophet.

  Let God Prevail and Follow His Prophet Summary Statement God sends His children prophets because He loves them. When we follow the prophet, we will be blessed. Part of following the prophet means sustaining and upholding the prophet. When we have a testimony and understanding of our divine identity, the power of Jesus Christ, and our covenants, we will have a desire to let God prevail and follow His prophet.

  The Power of Jesus Christ and Your Covenants Summary Statement It is only through the power of Jesus Christ that we can make and keep covenants with the Lord. The power of the Savior is what gives our covenants power and allows us to get back on the path when we deviate from our covenants. I also learned that the Lord helps us to qualify and prepare to keep our covenants with Him. Each of these five main principles build on each other.   Our Divine Identity Summary Statement I have a testimony that I am a Child of God with great potential. I have a testimony that He loves me and has a mission for me to complete in this life. As I work to better understand and live up to my divine identity, I can also help others to learn of their divine identity.
